Addressing an audience in Washington D.C. at an Oct 16 luncheon hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan reiterated the strength of U.S.-HK trade, and provided an overview of HK’s economic growth over the past 20 years. He cited Hong Kong’s commitment to free trade, rule of law, tax-friendly policies, and new opportunities presented by Bay Area development as key reasons for the city’s continued success.
