Partnering with AWA (American Women’s Association), AmCham provides financial assistance to smaller and lesser known charities helping children, elderly, and disadvantaged people with health and special needs.

2018 is the AmCham Charitable Foundation’s 12th year of collaboration with the AWA. As a volunteer organization open to all women in Hong Kong regardless of nationality, AWA provides support to local charities and schools through community service and monetary grants. This often involves tireless on-the-ground work with disadvantaged groups to understand their genuine needs that are lesser known to all of us.

Since our partnership with AWA in 2006, the Foundation has provided financial assistance (totaling over HK$1.4 million) to around 50 smaller charities that focus on helping children, elderly and underprivileged groups with health and special needs.

We are deeply grateful for all the time and efforts contributed by AWA in vetting funding applications to identify suitable and credible charities, so AmCham could make a small but solid impact to the lives of the local people.

The AmCham Charitable Foundation supported projects from the following NGOs in 2017 through our partnership with AWA.

  • Integrated Brilliant Education Trust (IBET)
  • The Spastics Association of Hong Kong (SAHK)
  • Justice Center Hong Kong
  • Project Concern Hong Kong
  • LoveXpress Foundation Ltd

Finale of Charitable Foundation’s annual programs is the Charitable Foundation Dinner

Each year, AmCham hosts the highly-anticipated Charitable Foundation Dinner, where business leaders and friends of the Chamber gather for an evening of fine dining, music and entertainment. The dinner marks a celebration of the year’s achievements and brings in new hope for future accomplishments.
