Robert Grieves is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Hamilton Advisors Ltd, a strategic communications firm based in Hong Kong. Following a 12-year career in journalism for The Times (London) and The Economist (both in Beijing), and Time magazine and Forbes (both in New York), he has been a top-tier communications specialist since 1989.
His communications career has included seven years at the global public relations firm of Burson-Marsteller, five years as Hong Kong-based Asia head of Marketing and Communications for Merrill Lynch, three years as head of Global Communications for The Bank of New York, and four years as head of global media relations and financial communications for the international insurance firm, ACE. Most recently he served as President, Hong Kong for Edelman, a global public relations firm that has won numerous awards in the Asia-Pacific region.
Robert graduated from Hamilton College magna cum laude with a B.A. in English Literature and East Asian History and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.S. in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a concurrent certificate from Columbia’s East Asian Institute.
He is the 2019 Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; Chairman of the Council of Public Relations Firms of Hong Kong; and a member of the Hike for Hospice Organising Committee of the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care.
