VP & General Counsel Asia
Michelle Wei is Vice President and General Counsel of Asia at Flex, a Fortune global 500 company. She leads the legal function across Asia Pacific including commercial, procurement, general corporate, corporate governance, dispute and litigation, anti-corruption and compliance, labor & employment, M&A, real property and other matters. Her role covers Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and India. Prior to joining Flex, Michelle practiced with law firms in China and in New York. She also served as a part-time legislative consultant to the People’s Congress of Shenzhen, China. Michelle participated the Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme (“LCTS”) for young Chinese lawyers in London and Hong Kong. LCTS was a 13-month program consisting of English and EU law courses at SOAS, University of London and placement at solicitor’s firms and a barrister’s chamber. She received her LLB from the China University of Political Science and Law, her LLM from New York University, and her MA in Economics from Peking University. Michelle is admitted to practice in China and New York. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Corporate Counsel Association. The HKCCA is Hong Kong's only association of in-house counsel run for in-house counsel by in-house counsel.
