Basic requirements are a bachelor’s degree, five years of experience, and fluency in English and Cantonese.
Duties: The candidate’s primary role is to open doors for U.S. exporters in the Hong Kong and Macau markets and to promote Hong Kong and Macau business investment into the United States. The candidate will possess a combination of skills that include: international business development/sales acumen; trade and regulatory policy experience to facilitate market access into Hong Kong and Macau; strong analytical and writing abilities; good public speaking skills; excellent time management skills needed to work in a fast-paced environment; a history of strategic thinking and action; and robust VIP event planning abilities. The candidate must demonstrate a track record as a proactive independent thinker, a resourceful self-starter, and a team player that will be a dependable go-to source for U.S. businesses seeking market and industry insights. The candidate must be able to develop and maintain strong and lasting relationships with Hong Kong and Macau industry leaders that will lead to business investment into the United States and export sales by U.S. businesses into Hong Kong and Macau.
The candidate will develop and maintain an extensive range of senior level contacts with business organizations, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and research institutes. He/she will be called upon to counsel American business leaders, state and federal government officials, and local business leaders in bilateral and international business issues. He/she must be conversant with trade issues affecting the U. S., Hong Kong, and China, and be able to provide analyses of current events for both American and Hong Kong clients.
