AmCham's inaugural Future Leaders program launched on September 12 with a welcome reception for the 31 successful applicants that make up the first class of Future Leaders, giving the rising young corporate stars a chance to mingle with chamber leaders, sponsors and their nominating managers.
Competition for a place was fierce, with just under half of nominated candidates making the final cut. Aged under-35 and drawn from a variety of sectors including finance, law, not-for-profit, education, sustainability and government, the Future Leaders are embarking on a 10-month leadership course of workshops, training sessions, panels, and industry-visits. The program will give participants multiple opportunities for meaningful engagement with senior executives, government officials, and chamber leaders.
"Identifying, retaining and nurturing talent are among the challenges that I hear most frequently cited by leaders from all sectors of public life," said Tara Joseph, AmCham's president. "With this in mind, we sat down to devise a program where we can make a real and lasting contribution to the future of Hong Kong."
AmCham hopes that these high-performing individuals will join the next generation of leaders in Hong Kong’s talent pool, and that through the program the chamber will also forge a long-term relationship with a new generation of members.
