As the Sunday deadline for applications passed, AmCham faced an embarrassment of riches, says President Tara Joseph
Extract of letter from AmCham's Tara Joseph:
AmCham has seen an exceptional level of applications for our debut AmCham Future Leaders Program, which will launch this September as a unique 10-month-long leadership program. Over 70 young professionals, many from Hong Kong and from our member companies, sent in fabulous videos and CVs displaying talent, ambition and creativity. The applicants range from environmentalists to tech specialists, bankers, lawyers, teachers and entrepreneurs. We will select 30 people for our first program and I expect it will provide a big boost to AmCham’s talent pipeline and future leadership.
It has been an enormous effort to create a brand new program, and I would like to say a big thank you to our freelance program director Nancy Hancock, who worked tirelessly to set high standards. Also, thank you to our maiden AmCham Future Leaders Task Force, which includes Etta Wong of USC, Franz Brand of Hutchison, Sanjeev Chatrath of IBM and Anne O’Riordan from Jardine Matheson.
Our theme for AmCham’s 50th anniversary has been celebrating the past and investing in the future. I can think of no better year to get AmCham Future Leaders off the ground.
