Are you ready to leverage technology and creativity in the world of communications? As the Communications Assistant Manager, you'll partner with the Director of Corporate Affairs to craft compelling external communications that resonate with our community. From engaging website content to vibrant social media posts, to publishing the bi-monthly e-magazine, your role will be pivotal in shaping the American Chamber’s brand narrative.

YOUR MISSION

Embrace innovation as you create content and monitor our social media strategies to boost brand awareness, enhance marketing efforts, and drive event attendance and membership growth. You'll be at the forefront of AmCham’s digital presence, using AI tools and analytics to optimize the Chamber’s communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll work directly with the Director of Corporate Affairs and collaborate closely with the Membership and Events Team to achieve the following:

Dynamic Content Creation

  • Engaging Publications: Design and produce newsletters, events calendar, bi-monthly e-magazine, and other publications, utilizing storytelling techniques to convey important messages and updates to members. Work with the Corporate Affairs team to design white papers, surveys and reports that highlight the Chamber's initiatives and member successes.

  • Event Promotion Content: Create promotional materials for events, including flyers, digital banners, and social media graphics that capture attention and drive attendance. Develop post-event content leveraging multimedia storytelling techniques, such as summaries, highlight videos, and photo galleries, to showcase event success and encourage future participation.

  • Website Management: Regularly update the Chamber’s website with fresh content on events, campaigns, and relevant news.

  • Members’ Thought Leadership: Develop engaging content for various platforms (website, digital publications, social media, eDMs) that reflects the interests of the business community. This involves cooperating with Membership and Events teams to gather insights and feedback that inform content creation, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and member interests, as well as coordinating with external partners and sponsors to produce co-branded content that enhances visibility and promotes collaborative initiatives.

Social Media Strategy

  • Innovative Strategy Development: Design and execute a cutting-edge social media strategy across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.

  • Content Oversight: Curate and manage social media content to keep our audience informed and engaged.

  • Performance Measurement: Analyze the success of each campaign using analytics tools to refine our approach continuously.

  • Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of social media trends and best practices, integrating new technologies and tools into our strategy. Experiment with AI tools for content generation, graphic design, and audience analysis to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of content creation processes.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: a minimum of two years of experience in communications or marketing.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in managing corporate social media platforms  (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X), enthusiastic in experimenting the latest technologies, and understanding SEO principles.
  • Design Skills: Solid experience in graphic design using tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; familiarity with content creation software/applications is a plus.

  • Brand Sensitivity: Keen attention to detail and an understanding of corporate branding.
  • Storytelling: Strong storytelling abilities with a pulse on the latest trends.

  • Adaptability: Creative, flexible, and capable of working collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-Starter: Independent, deadline-oriented, and driven by a strong work ethic.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English is essential, and Chinese is a bonus.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent project management capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the Chamber’s mission.
