AmCham and Facebook to launch new “Future Series” to drive digitalization of Hong Kong in the post-COVID new era

September 30, 2021 - HONG KONG - While COVID-19 is still with us, companies are adapting new strategies of doing business under the new normal; The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (AmCham) and Facebook will co-launch a series of thought leadership workshops and events in providing food for thoughts for all to plan for the future.

AmCham has been proud to be a pioneer advocate to push for new ways for work, talent development, and business operations for the past few years with the signature “Future of Work” series provided for AmCham members and the general public in Hong Kong. The new “Future Series”, co-designed by AmCham and Facebook, will go beyond the existing focus on workplace and explore more possibilities in the future of commerce, community development, AI and Big Data.

“Future of Work is not a one-off concept or initiative at AmCham,” said AmCham President Tara Joseph. “Building on the success of AmCham’s Future of Work 2.0 Week which explored work technologies, talent, workspace, company culture for the next generation, the new ‘Future Series' will be a continuity of these discussions featuring innovators, entrepreneurs, opinion leaders and stakeholders to share their vision of the future, how business tackle challenges they will face, their real-life cases to stay resilient and create opportunities while contributing to the sustainable development of the city,” Joseph added.

“Facebook’s mission is to bring the world closer together and we believe technology is a force for good. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to partner with AmCham to encourage more discussions in Hong Kong on how different stakeholders can join hands together to drive digitalization in many aspects, from the future of commerce to talent development,” said George Chen, Director of Public Policy, Greater China, Mongolia, and Central Asia, Facebook, who also sits on the board of AmCham.

As part of Social Impact Initiative of AmCham, the four-part bi-monthly “Future Series”, starting from this month, will cover trendy topics from e-commerce, connectivity, lifestyle, talent development, and to sustainable growth in Hong Kong and beyond. They will be held in a variety of formats, from online Facebook Live event, hybrid, and to offline in-person forums followed by networking sessions for AmCham members. Media representatives and all are welcome to join the discussion. More details will be shared through the official Facebook pages of AmCham and Facebook Hong Kong.
