AmCham Celebrates the Opening of its Community Hub and HKSAR 25th Anniversary of Establishment

Hong Kong – July 6, 2022 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (AmCham) officially opens its brand new Community Hub today.

With over 50 years of history in Hong Kong, AmCham remains committed to Hong Kong, an international business city that will have a growing role to play in generating business across mainland China and the Asia Pacific region.

“AmCham’s purchase of the new facility is a strong illustration of its members’ confidence of Hong Kong as a vital international business hub. AmCham will continue to be a contributor to positive developments that support the work of the new Administration to maintain Hong Kong’s free, open and sound business environment, as well as strengthening Hong Kong’s unique positioning and advantages – a core component in maintaining Hong Kong’s competitiveness,” said AmCham Chairman Joseph Armas.

The official opening of the Community Hub – AmCham’s new permanent home in Hong Kong – came at the time when its members celebrated HKSAR’s 25th anniversary of establishment and US Independence Day. “It is AmCham’s continued mission to foster closer US-Hong Kong ties and today is a special day for AmCham as we celebrate the most important events of both Hong Kong and US which took place in the same week,” Armas added.

Located on Duddell Street in Central, AmCham’s Community Hub is a collaborative work space focusing on driving value for members doing business in Hong Kong. It is part of AmCham 2.0 initiative focusing on key pillars – innovation & technology, sustainability, future of work, community connection and diversity & inclusion – to shape a brighter future for AmCham and Hong Kong.

“Hong Kong is an excellent fertile ground for innovation and technology, and it is AmCham’s mission to support Hong Kong’s role by facilitating a vibrant ecosystem conducive to a smarter city, a greener economy, and a more dynamic entrepreneurial atmosphere. As we live through a disruptive era characterized by rapid digitalization, innovative technologies, COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative to equip talent for the future of work,” said Armas.

The success of the community hub’s transformation would not be possible without the generous sponsorship of CLP, Brooklyn Brewery, Emerson, Forma Lighting, Logitech, Meta, Nespresso, Shure, Steelcase, Whirlpool and Uber.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Meta for being the Grand Sponsor for the Community Hub’s opening, Straub Collaborative Hong Kong as the Content Partner, as well as Impossible Foods, Little Bao and MHD Hong Kong as the Food & Beverage Sponsors of the evening.
