AmCham Elects New Leadership for 2022

2022 AmCham

Hong Kong – November 19, 2021 – At today’s Extraordinary General Meeting, the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (“AmCham”) warmly welcomes its newly-elected Chairman, Vice Chairman and Board of Governors as the Chamber opens a new chapter in Hong Kong and welcomes members and partners in Spring 2022 to its community hub, located in the heart of Central.

AmCham looks forward to the leadership of its new Chairman Joseph Armas, Managing Director, Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan of OTIS Elevator Company (HK) Limited, Vice Chairman Geoffrey Siebengartner, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Government Affairs of FedEx, and a robust slate of board members representing multinational corporations such as Apple, Citi, Dow, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Meta and Sun Life, among others.

“Our Chamber community is energized by the new leadership joining our Board to lead us in 2022 and the opening of our new community hub, a first-in-class and welcoming home for our businesses. We will continue our transformation into AmCham 2.0, a Chamber that innovates to connect our membership with the US, China and Hong Kong communities,” said Armas.

In light of AmCham President Ms. Tara Joseph’s departure, AmCham’s Board of Governors convened a search committee and appointed a professional search firm, Korn Ferry, to commence a global recruitment process in 2022 for the selection of the Chamber’s next President.

“The Chamber appreciates Ms. Joseph’s service and investment in the future of AmCham. She helped move the Chamber into the digital age, advocated on tough issues, and launched AmCham 2.0, including leading the Chamber to purchase our new community hub, AmCham’s new permanent home. Ms. Joseph’s leadership, spirit, and innovative thinking will be greatly missed,” said Jessica Bartlett, AmCham Chairman 2021.

For over fifty years, AmCham has served the American and Hong Kong business community to act as a bridge between the United States, China and Hong Kong. Representing over 500 U.S. corporates and 1,600 members based in this city, AmCham is committed to the future business development of Hong Kong, as our companies locate here, invest here, and employ talent here. AmCham welcomes our new leadership to guide our members and companies to access the opportunities for business in Asia, the Greater Bay Area, and our home, Hong Kong.
